Nikki DeVault, LPC

“I have always been deeply fascinated by people—their stories, experiences, and the resilience they show in the face of challenges. As a therapist, I am honored to walk alongside my clients, offering support and guidance as they navigate their unique journeys.

Every day, I am inspired by their strength and growth, making this work not just a profession, but a true passion.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in West Chester, Pennsylvania with many years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in various settings. I have provided intensive in-home family therapy, worked closely with children and adolescents facing mental health challenges, and helped parents and caregivers navigate their roles. Additionally, I have extensive experience in outpatient settings assisting teens and adults struggling with a variety of mental health concerns.

Currently, I offer individual in-person and teletherapy to teens and adults in Pennsylvania. I also offer supervision to individuals seeking their therapeutic licensure (LPC).

Therapeutic Approach

I take an integrative, trauma-informed approach to therapy, drawing from Compassion-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Attachment Therapy. Through my work, I’ve come to deeply appreciate the profound impact of trauma and the importance of addressing it with care and understanding.

While I incorporate a variety of therapeutic methods, I primarily identify as an attachment- and trauma-focused therapist. Beyond traditional talk therapy and “top-down” approaches—such as CBT and DBT, which focus on changing thoughts to influence emotions and behaviors—I integrate “bottom-up” techniques. These body-based and experiential methods work directly with the nervous system, helping to process stored trauma, regulate emotions, and promote healing on a deeper, more embodied level.

At times I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. But my primary modalities include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and other body-based approaches, all of which I have found to be powerful tools in fostering deep, lasting growth and transformation.

Inclusive and Affirming

I welcome and celebrate individuals of all backgrounds. As an inclusive therapist, I am deeply committed to providing affirming care for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and those of diverse racial, ethnic, and religious identities. Your unique journey and identity will always be honored here.

Also, my knowledge of neuroscience and brain-based therapeutic approaches allows me to provide thoughtful support to the neurodivergent community. I truly believe that everyone has the inner capacity to heal, grow, and thrive when supported with the right approach and a nurturing therapeutic relationship. It’s an honor to be part of this deeply personal process, offering guidance and support as my clients and I work together to foster growth, resilience, and meaningful transformation.
